A
broadcaster since October 1960, Bud has worked at several Texas
radio stations, most of them in Lubbock, Texas. Stations such
as KSEL AM 950, KLLL AM 1460, KKAM AM 1340, KCBD AM 1590, KFYO
AM 790 for sixteen years as program director and music director.
The last six years as general manager and co-host of the "Big
Ed in the Morning Show" on KRFE AM 580.
Bud
is a Lubbock Texas native. He graduated from Monterey High School
in 1958, then attended Texas Tech. And in 1970 produced "The
Coon Hunt" by Jerry Clower on MCA Records and was later awarded
a platinum album from MCA Records for sales in excess of one million
dollars at the retail level. In 1975 he produced a record by a
gospel singer from Brownfield, Texas, Jerry Jordan, called "Phone
Call From God" and was later awarded a gold record from MCA
Records signifying the sale of one million records. He currently
produces another country comedian from Nacogdoches, Texas, Mr.
Bob Murphey, on Southern Tracks Records out of Atlanta, Georgia.
Bud has spent most of his broadcasting career in Lubbock, Texas
and was awarded a Presidential Citation from President Richard
Millhouse Nixon for his outstanding public service work during
the 1970 Lubbock Tornado.
